National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs)

National Vocational Qualifications allow you to gain recognition for the skills, knowledge and understanding gained within your vocational area.

NVQ candidates from the University of Glamorgan benefit from working within the largest direct provider in the Higher Education sector.

NVQ’s can be supported by HE level underpinning knowledge programmes and workshops as necessary to enable candidates to consistently prove their competence against national standards.

The Glamorgan Business Schools NVQ centre has a long and successful experience of running NVQ programmes in a number of different fields of business and below are a list of NVQ courses available at Glamorgan.

Management
NVQ’s in Management are based on the national occupational standards developed by the Management Standards Centre (MSC) through consultation with UK organisations and their managers.

Learning & Development
NVQ’s in Learning & Development are based on the national occupational standards developed by the Employment NTO, the government approved body for the learning and development sector.

Assessor & Verifier Awards
The Assessor (A1/A2) and Verifier (V1) awards are for those who are /or plan to be involved in the assessment and/or internal verification of NVQ’s.

Supply Chain Management
NVQ’s in Supply Chain Management are based on the National Occupational Standards in Supply Chain, developed through consultation with UK organisations and their managers in the public, private and voluntary sectors.

Business Advice
This NVQ is suitable for individuals whose work roles involve a range of activities that include building relationships with clients, colleagues and contacts, and advising clients, helping them to meet their business needs.

Business Development
This qualification is intended to reflect the work of owners or managers in established small businesses whether sole trader, partnership or limited company.
