October 6, 2010
Funded by the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Christine Atkinson, Head of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Hub: Centre for Enterprise, joined Lithuanian and Georgian colleagues in Tbilisi last week to take part in the final stage of a groundbreaking initiative to promote women’s entrepreneurship in Georgia.
The joint International Business School at Vilnius University and Caucasus University project involved the development and delivery of a unique women’s entrepreneurship programme for women drawn from the 9 regions of Georgia.
Christine joined the directors of Caucasus University and the International Business School at Vilnius University, the Head of the EU Delegation in Georgia and the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia to support this important initiative to encourage women entrepreneurs to play a full role in the developing economy of Georgia.
Christine’s keynote address at the concluding international conference included sharing good practice developed in women’s entrepreneurship education by the University of Glamorgan and through the recently concluded Women’s Entrepreneurship in the European Union (WEEU) project involving partners in France and Lithuania.
